The Iran ‘Bomb Plot’ - We Won’t Be Fooled AgainSo Iran has committed an ‘act of war’ on the USA. Allegedly. The FBI are saying they’ve thwarted an official Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador on U.S. soil by bombing a restaurant in Washington DC. The reaction has been predictablly belligerent. Republican house Speaker Boehner has called  the President to ‘Hold Iran’s feet to the fire’. Democrat VP Joe Biden says ‘nothing has been taken off the table’ as U.S. decides possible sanctions and military action, adding that the consequences for Iran will be ‘serious’. Meanwhile the Chairman of House Homeland Security Committee called the plot ‘an act of war’. Well he would.Charge and counter-charge swirl in a fog of ignorance. Drug cartels are involved, its an Iranian act of war on the USA, its a false-flag operation, its an Israeli set-up. Theres and awful lot of heat and not much light. Nobody really knows the truth of it. What we do know, from bitter experience, is that things aren’t always what they seem. Remember the WMD lies that were used to justify invading Iraq ?What is absolutely crucial now is that we don’t let ourselves be fooled again. Nothing that has happened can possibly justify an American or Israeli attack on Iran. We must not allow anyone to use this story, true or false, as an excuse for acts of agression. We know that Israeli and American hawks have been itching for an excuse to attack Iran for years. We know they’re desperate for an excuse. We know that in the past they’ve lied to get their way. We know that any such attack would be inexcusable madness. We know all of this.So lets be very careful and take anything we see in the media (that same media that accepted the lies about Iraq and cheer-led that invasion) with a huge grain of salt. Lets be cool and calm and measured. Lets not get fooled again. This is the story

Yes we can change ? WTF ? Nothing. Same shit different color.

The Iran ‘Bomb Plot’ - We Won’t Be Fooled Again

So Iran has committed an ‘act of war’ on the USA.

Lets face it, the problems in American society go deep and stretch back a very long way. The political system is dysfunctional, equal opportunity for all is a joke, and the gap between the rich and the poor gets wider every day.

The Occupy Wall Street protests, and those elsewhere, are an attempt…

The state-sanctioned killing tonight of Troy Davis highlights once again, with a brutal clarity, that the death penalty has no place in any civilized society. That it is inneffective and lethally prone to error has been repeatedly proven. That it unfairly culls the poor, disadvantaged and racial minorities is unarguable. That it is morally repugnant is surely obvious to anyone with a spark of humanity. Camus said that .. “Capital punishment is the most premeditated of murders”. He was right. Every murder the state carries out on our behalf diminishes us all. It makes us dirty, complicit and criminal. It stains our conscience with blood. Why do Americas rulers still cling with such savage fervor to this discredited relic of barbaric times when so many Americans find it utterly abhorrent ? That is something I simply can’t understand.

No We Can’tYes comedy fans, the 2012 election curtain will be going up soon in Americas political theatre of the absurd and doesn’t it bring a tear of nostalgia to your eye as you recall previous shows that had us all on the edge of our seats ?
Remember the one where Obama was the knight in shining armor who would deliver us all from the clutches of the evil Bush ogre ? When he stood in the spotlight and gave the ‘yes we can’ speech, we believed and applauded. Sadly the show didn’t live up to the hype and it became abundantly clear that ‘no we can’t’.
- we can’t run the country for the benefit of its people rather than corporations- we can’t end the bone-headed Afghan war draining the countries lifeblood- we can’t slash the crippling military budget and use the money more wisely- we can’t abandon killing innocent civilians abroad with cowardly drone attacks- we can’t abandon the use of secret prisons, kidnapping and torture- we can’t prosecute those to blame for illegal wars, corruption and torture- we can’t stop persecuting and imprisoning whistleblowers and truth-tellers- we can’t dismantle the worst excesses of the Bush surveillance state- we can’t repeal the hideously unpatriotic and draconian ‘Patriot Act’- we can’t regulate the banks and big corporations in the public interest- we can’t give every American  a fair, value-for-money health-care system- we can’t stop the gap between the rich and the poor getting ever bigger- we can’t get rid of the corporate lobbyists poisoning the political process- we can’t create jobs rather than wealth for speculators and financiers- we can’t secure any change that is not approved of by big business- we can’t have a government representing the hopes and dreams of America ….
