Leider unterstützt tumblr den blackout day nicht obwohl SOPA sich gegen Dienste wie tumblr, wikipedia, google, facebook und viele mehr wendet.
Und das nicht nur in den USA sondern weltweit. Leider haben das noch nicht alle begriffen, so beteiligt sich die deutsche Seite von Wikipedia nur über ein Bannerbild an der Protestaktion der englischen Kollegen.

Auch bei tumblr können wir uns daran beteiligen, zumindest mit der öffentlichen Seite nach aussen.

Dazu müsst Ihr nur Euer Template anpassen: Wenn Euer Template bereits jquery geladen hat könnt ihr das erste Script weglassen.

And so it goes on. Tumblr randomly unavailable, error messages, irritated users, seriously sub-standard service, bone-headed refusal to sort it out. It gets worse instead of better.

Tumblr isn’t yet useless to the point of abandoning it but its very close. The blogging bit, in principal, would be good if it was reliable. The messaging functions are primitive and suck rocks but you’ll either get a clue and drag yourselves up to the standard of other sites or suffer the consequences. However everything pales into insignificance compared to the never-ending irritation of inadequate servers.

This is not a ‘new problem’ that you’re working on. You’re not ‘incredibly sorry’ or you’d fix it.  People have complained about the laughable unreliability ever since I got here and it never gets any better.  What is the matter Tumblr ? If your little techie-gnomes are incompetent then sack them and employ some that aren’t. If your management is utterly clueless find some that isn’t. If its money then do something to raise the essential investment. You’ve got over 8 milion contributers providing you with free content to dangle in front of the money men.

This is really not rocket science. You’re constantly operating on the border-line of server insufficiency and, despite all of the hot air you talk about ‘improvements’, you have been ever since I came here. You need more capacity that is better optimized. Whats so hard about that ? Other sites manage to get it right so why, after months and months and months of failing, can’t you ?

Seriously guys .. this is really ..*really* .. long past a joke. Its not remotely funny, or quirky or charming or idiosyncratic. Its just plain, dumb mismanagement. Frankly, its indefensible.
